Fiinancing an Active Living Lifestyle in Cobble Creek can be done

Financing Active Living Lifestyle

Financing an active living lifestyle in today’s economy with market volatility, inflation and rising world issues can be hard to navigate.  Being prepared though, will eliminate worry.  Here are several ideas to help get prepared and make your retirement plan successful.

The first step to take is review your expected income stream from retirement.  Lawrence Tundidor made suggestions to consider in “The Key to Retiring in Today’s Economy,” found in Ideal Living Magazine. He also recommends planning the timing in using your funds may be key to having enough over the long term.  He suggests using a “Bucket System” to plan where your money is coming from.  Place your money in several buckets in order to pull from the bucket that will be least affected at the time you need the funds.  If you place all your funds in one bucket you will have to pull from it no matter if the economy is up or down and it may not be the best time.

Your retirement income will be affected by social security income, Medicare premiums and taxes.  It is also wise to protect your portfolio from downturns as losses in the market may reflect on your income.  If your income stream is down and inflation has risen, you may not live as comfortably as expected.  For most people, a financial advisor, skilled in asset management may be the best way to navigate this myriad of complications.  They can help ensure your financing the active living lifestyle you dreamed of.

Around and About Colorado

Olathe, Colorado

The Ute tribe inhabited the area now known as Olathe for hundreds of years, using it as a village due to the abundance of hunting and fishing opportunities. Western expansion brought miners dreaming of riches in gold and silver, as well as settlers who began homesteading, pushing the tribe out in 1882. The town of Olathe was established in 1896 when confusion arose over the local train depot having one name and the post office another. Someone suggested calling the town “Olathe,” (Shawnee for “beautiful”), and the town agreed.

Agriculture has long been a staple of the town because of the fertile nature of the region. High mountain barriers surround the town and offer a barrier from severe wind and weather. It is also a shipping and business hub for much of the valley.  There are not a lot of shops or businesses in this quiet community, but it’s charming, nonetheless.

Activities in and near Olathe

The town of Olathe is known for its sweet corn, which is a famous food around Colorado. The town celebrates the harvest each year at a town festival in August. There is a fully operational orchard and winery which is a great addition to the Colorado wine scene. Sweitzer Lake is close to the town for day use and the Forest Service campgrounds are nearby. The Dry Creek Canyon trail system has plenty of options for mountain biking, hiking, and horseback riding. There are plenty of other activities in the area including fishing, hunting, skiing and snowmobiling to name a few.
